The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 133

The Fidelity label

Today I feature the just 10 records that were issued as the Fidelity label in 1951 and '52. It was a subsidiary of Art Rupe's specialty label that had become one of the more succesful labels in Rhythm & Blues. In articles in Billboard Magazine it reads between the lines that Rupe bought an existing firm, but all issues have been done under his supervision.

As so few records have been released, I have time to play both sides of several of them. And that's a lot of great Rhythm & Blues - what else can you expect from Art Rupe.
